History
of CCV
Central
California Video Engineering and Manufacturing
(CCV) has been the leading design and manufacturing
company for well, borehole and sewer line single
conductor camera systems for over 30 years. Dick
Vaughn founded CCV in Fresno, California in 1972.
Initially, CCV designed and manufactured television
installations for many applications including
production studios, building security, and hospital
systems. Claude Laval, Jr., founder of Laval Underground,
Inc., asked CCV to design a television system
for borehole inspection to replace Laval's still
cameras. CCV designed and built the camera and
in the process developed the modem system (encoder/decoder)
commonly used today for communication over a coaxial
cable (single conductor) in the well and sewer
inspection camera industry.
The
association between Laval and CCV continued for
over 20 years with CCV designing and manufacturing
well cameras and associated components, which
were sold by Laval. A second application, sewer
line inspection cameras, was developing and CCV
designed and built several single conductor cameras
for the sewer line inspection industry.
Aries
Industries Inc. had always purchased certain CCV
products over a 10-year period and had often discussed
the benefits of a combined Aries/CCV team. The
opportunity arose and Aries, a designer/manufacturer
and direct marketer of sewer, gas, and water line
CCTV inspection camera systems, took advantage
of the opportunity to combine these well known
camera companies and purchased CCV in July of
2000.
Today, CCV manufactures a full line of single
conductor waterwell and sewer pipeline inspection
camera systems that are sold throughout the USA
and internationally under the Aries and CCV names.
